There’s no denying that prices have gotten out of control, especially for once-affordable treats like fast food. So it comes as no surprise that a dad of three recently went viral for his clever hack of keeping a Chick-fil-A bill under $45 for a family of five — because no one should be paying that much for some fried chicken on a bun. “I have a hack for every day who’s always saying, ‘Why are we spending so much money at Chick-fil-A,” podcast host Jeff Johnson proudly said in his Instagram video with over 200,000 views. “Instead of everybody ordering their fried chicken sandwich and their meal, here’s what we just did… we ordered 30 nuggets … and we ordered just a buttered bun, which is the sandwich, for 25 cents each,” he continued. Even with some side sauces and drinks, the meal is still inexpensive. If Johnson had ordered each of his five family members a fried chicken sandwich, a side of fries, and a drink — it would’ve easily cost upwards of $55, give or take. The chain’s fried chicken sandwich meal can cost around $11, depending on location. Stefano Giovannini “Everyone’s

happy, dad’s happy…You could eat for under $45 for a family of five,” he pointed out. And the commenters were just as thrilled to learn this money-saving tip. “Chick-fil-A is expensive. Good advice dude. Appreciate it…” one wrote. “That’s a legit idea…” another chimed in. The video even made its way to X (formerly Twitter), where it was shared by @CrystalHope1979 and received almost 3 million views, delighting even more commenters. “Wow! Feeding a family of 5 for 45$?? It’s like it’s 2018 again!” a shocked commenter shared. “I’ve been doing this for years. McDonald’s has a 10 piece for the same price as a happy meal basically… Kids split the 10 piece and the three of us split my large fry with my combo,” someone else wrote. The popular chain recently went back to its original waffle fry recipe after customer backlash over the restaurant adding pea starch to its recipe. jetcityimage – stock.adobe.com Regardless of how customers consume their Chick-fil-A, something they were up in arms about up until recently was the chain’s waffle fry recipe change. The menu staple has been around since 1985, but recently faced immense backlash from loyal customers after pea starch was added to the famous recipe two years ago to make the fries crispier supposedly. After enough criticism from frustrated customers, the Georgia chain confirmed in March of this year that the added starch was no more, as reported by People. “Thanks Chick-fil-A for taking pea starch out of your fries,” one X user wrote. “THEY REMOVED THE PEA STARCH!!
